On Sunday, May 19th I’ll be walking to raise awareness and funds for an organization and a community that has a special place in my heart.
Friendship Circle Upper East Side works every day to cultivate friendships between kids, teens, and young adults with special needs and dedicated teen and young adult volunteers. This organization provides social and recreational opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to individuals with special needs. Hundreds of friendships have been formed and so many lives have been changed for the better because of this beautiful organization. I volunteer at a program called Sunday Circle where I have the privilege of spending time with my buddy, Leah.
Friendship Circle has had such a positive impact on my life and I am so grateful for my buddy Leah as well as the entire FS community. I have fostered many special relationships with the kids in addition to my buddy. It is incredibly rewarding and heartwarming to put smiles on these kids' faces; it is truly a feeling like no other.
Now, as I am in the early stages of the college process and see what's currently happening across college campuses nationwide, I know that Chabad chapters need our support more than ever. Friendship Circle is heavily reliant on donations to fund all of its programs and make the kids' experience the best it can be. Anything you can give to support my walk will be so appreciated and go such a long way. Thank you so much!
